The recent passage of SB-181 has put new oil and gas business in Colorado on the sidelines. But Aurora and Weld County are taking steps to move forward. Kim and Producer Steve discuss Aurora’s decision to give ConocoPhillips the go-ahead to run 45 well sites as well as Weld County commissioners reading an ordinance that would establish Weld County as a “local control county” for oil and gas.

Today’s featured guest is Dwight Eckert. Eckert is the Colorado Director of The National EMP Taskforce. Electromagnetic pulses, or EMPs, are capable of completely disrupting and shutting down an electrical system. This isn’t science fiction—it’s technology that has been viable since the Cold War and it poses an extreme threat to our nation’s safety and well-being. What would happen if every home, business, and first responder lost access to electricity?
